This year we decided to have thanks giving at my brother Matt’s house. The reason we went down to his house is because he works as a tech and dorm parent for Cono Christion Boarding school, which is located down in Iowa a three hour drive for us. I decided a couple of months ago that I was going to spend the entire break with my brother’s family for a change.
The night before we left for Cono Theodore one of my friends returned from college for the weekend. We picked him up at the train station after dark and snow was falling. Elspeth, Theodore’s sister, and I had some coffee at the train station. It was the kind of coffee that you drink not for the taste but just because it’s coffee. Theo soon arrived and we took him back to his house. It was strange even though I hadn’t seen him for three months it didn’t seem like he had changed at all. I always imagined after going to college all of our friends would change into what they are going to be for the rest of their lives but infact I already knew who they’re going to be when they get older. Granted they might have different experiences and meet knew people, but the people who I meet won’t really change.
Anyway, back to Thanks Giving at my brother’s house. On the way down I drove half way I started falling asleep so I stopped and my Mom took the wheel. When we got there we greeted everyone and sat around until dinner was ready. They had five dorm kids and another family eating there aswell so the small house was packed with people. The dorm kids started a game of Monopoly so Jon and I joined in. The game had to be halted when dinner was called and since we wanted to continue the game we procceded to stuff monopoly money in our pockets. Chanel said later how strange it was to see seven boys stuff fake money in their pockets.
The dinner was great the food was good and there was plenty of it. After everyone was filled with food we sat around and talked until my parents and brother Jon had to leave. Then it was just me and Matt for the entire weekend. It all seemed to go by very quickly and don’t have time in this blog to talk about it all. But I had an enjoyable time and hope to visit them soon.

I’ve talked to Tylor quite a bit and I think we’re going to have a chess night at Jules. I’m really looking forward to it if it does work out. I started playing chess when I was eight against my older brother Matt. It wasn’t soon after that, a couple of years, that I could beet him. I know I’m not that good at chess but I do love playing the game. Just a month ago I bought a new chess set, which I’ve been needing, and since I bought a portable one it will work great for a chess night out. Actually, I know it’

It was a couple of days ago now, but I was working on C++ and for some reason I wanted to make a program that would roll the dice for you in the game Risk. A hundred lines later and a large part of my day, I had it. It’s nothing special but it works. You can look at the code in the archives and if anyone has any tips I would be greatly pleased. I just wish I could think of more programs to make that are fun and yet progress my learning in programming. I guess I’ll just have to brain storm for awhile.

Well, it has been awhile since I last wrote anything, mostly because of all the calves being born. Wednesday of last week was the worst. It was snowing, and snow makes everything worse with calving, but we got through it and I’m still alive, which is more than I can say for some of the calves. Yes, yes, I know it’s sad that small calves die every year but after awhile you get used to it. There isn’t really anything else you can do about it and I’d rather not get sad or depressed over every single animal that dies.

Today, I was home alone for most of the day. My Dad’s uncle died, I believe. I think I met him once or twice but I never really knew him that well. So they went down to Iowa and I stayed home and tended the cattle. Thankfully, no cows calved while they were gone. I spent a couple of hours pounding in posts and other farm related work. Oh, I was also climbing a few trees. Other than that it’s been rather quiet.

This weekend was long but I like long weekends. I went to fifth quarter this Friday. I took Danny, Tyrece, and I also picked up Elspeth. It was fun but I’m not one for lots of people in small quarters so I went on a walk with a few of the people. We ended up going to the Fischer’s and jumping on their trampoline. Saturday, I jammed with Danny at Neighborhood City Church. I think the jams are getting better even without a drummer. After we stopped playing and I locked everything up, I walked to Theo’s. It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed the walk thoroughly, although my feet aren’t quite used to walking that much. It was strange, I almost always play bass in some form, somewhere every Sunday and this week I didn’t play anywhere. It was like I was somewhat normal for a change. I went to New Testament class and Live all without having to run back before we get up on stage to play. Since it was warm I climbed the light pole in the church parking lot. It gets rather shaky after 15 feet or so. Anyway, the rest I don’t feel like relating at this time but it was a good weekend for the most part and another week awaits.

I started messing with bash coding a couple days ago. I’m enjoying it quite a bit. It’s like learning the unix terminals laungage which is helpful in more ways than I thought possible. The websit that I’m using for lessons is link . I’m learning a lot and hopefully will learn a lot more by the end of this school year. I was also trying to learn how to import things from my computer to the domain space. I deleted the top header thing, which I had a back up on my computer, and tryed to copy from my computer. As you can see from there being no header, I ran in to a little problem; but I’m sure I’ll get it worked out soon.

Well, this is my first post on my new blog. I first would like to thank Matt, my brother, for setting this up and all my friends for giving me something to write about.

This weekend, as most of you know, I had a quiz meet in Plover. We all knew that we wouldn’t do amazing or anything. I think we gave that hope up about three months into the quiz year, but it was still fun. To go to the quiz meet, I had to skip my robotics tournament, which wasn’t the best; but I missed so many quiz meets already this year, I had to go. We got back from the quiz meet at about six or so. I went to the Harwoods with Ian and Elspeth. Theo, of course, went to a movie with Kristen. We had a good time, though; we all went for a walk and I got a Chicago record at Good Will. Sunday, I went to Bethany and was told by Ian that I had to play bass for little church, which I did without my glasses. Although being blind makes a lot of things better, playing bass is not one of them. Later in the afternoon Wade Moses was filming a dating movie which I was in. That went for a couple of hours then we went out to Lucas’. I haven’t been there in quite some time. It brought back a lot of old memories. The girls came a couple hours later and we all went for a walk to Andrew’s house. After that I went home and went to sleep.
